Gawler Greyhounds Racing Club held race meetings again this past Tuesday and Sunday. Again we had perfect weather and some excellent racing.
Race 3 on Tuesday was the Gawler Dry Cleaners Open Maiden Series final and Stitch em Harry trained by Shelley Trengove(pictured) took out the final with a very strong race. Stitch em Harry jumped quickly from box 6 to take the lead and no other runner in the race was able to chase him down. Ben Rawlings Grand Chaos run a rails race to make up some ground and finished 2nd.
Race 7 was another good race with Neil Mann’s Greyhound Strauss leading from start to finish ahead of Robyn Mackellar’s Alpha Alexander and Paul Hearnden’s Long Gully Ella who tied 1 length back from the winner to finish 2nd.
On Sunday trainer Steven Brook took out the 3rd race with Kind Girl making a strong run home to beat the Favourite Snapchat Shayne trained by Scott Feltus and local trainer Ross Panagiotou’s Red Faith. Both Snapchat Shayne and Red Faith jumped to an early lead, only to be run down in the last 50metres by Kind Girl who streaked around the outside to win.
