Gawler Greyhound Report- 08 May 2017
A sunny afternoon was had at Gawler on Tuesday 2nd of May with 11 races being held.
A couple of highlight races for this week’s report are from Race 5 Michaelkris Real Estate 400m Stake. Angaston trainer Paula Hearnden did well with Long Gully Robbi taking first place. Princess Sasha trained by Lisa Rasmussen jumped really well to take the lead but it wasn’t long until Long Gully Robbi headed and took the lead down the back straight. Long Gully Robbi continued to lead through to the end of the race winning by almost 3lengths over Princess Sasha followed by Woodside Zorro trained by Graham Smith.
In race 9 Lewiston trainer Artemio Ieraci had an excellent win with Halo Haze over the 400m Greyhound Adoption Program stake race. Halo Haze jumped well from box 2 and was never really headed, leading from Gator Bale trained by Lisa Rasmussen, Pretostella trained by Kiah Hurley followed on to finish 3rd. The winning time by Halo Haze was a smart 22.76 seconds.
After finishing 3rd on Tuesday Kiah Hurley and Pretostella got the job done in race 3 on Sunday night. Best in Red trained by Renata Maruszczyk jump well taking the lead by 3 lengths down the back straight. Mickey the Finn trained by David Hall pushed strongly through on the rail closely followed by Pretostella, Best in Red tired along the final straight and it was left to Pretostella and Mickey the Finn to fight it out to see who took line honours. Pretostella winning in 22.91seconds by 1 length from Mickey the Finn.
We will be racing on Mother’s Day and have tables available for those looking to take mum out for an enjoyable evening. Bookings can be made on 08 85222 935.
