Gawler Greyhound Racing Club 31 Jan 2020

Hot and muggy conditions greeted us on Friday with the 11 race card being run from 1202pm.

Pictured is winner from Race 1- Reddy Red with handler Peter Czupak. Reddy Red is trained by Jack Williams. The maiden race run over 400m didn’t look to be Reddy Red’s at the start with Troy Murray trained Greyhound Cackles taking the lead and being clear down the back straight. Another Clanger trained by Don Turner took Cackles on but wouldn’t run past which allowed Reddy Red to sneak up the inside on the rail to take the lead down the home straight for its first win in a time of 23.43seconds.

Race 7 also over 400m was a well run race that saw Sutton Heidi trained by Angela Modra take the early lead by jumping well from box 1. Shocked trained by Kim Johnstone made a move around the final turn and took a rail’s run while Sutton Heidi moved off the track. This allowed Shocked to be the eventual winner by 2.5lengths in a time of 23.44seconds.

Race 10 over 531m was won by a Vadim Roz trained Greyhound named Emerley Fabbro. Emerley Fabbro took the lead before the first turn and increased the lead to 3 lengths ahead of Love First trained by Tony Lagana. Emerley Fabbro ran out eventual winner by 3.25lengths in a time of 31.03seconds.

We will continue to race this coming Friday and next week Tuesday. Come in for a $20 steak special and $5.00 pints all day on Friday.
